Allentown Art Museum, America On Wheels and DaVinci
Science Center Team Up to "Go Green"
Three organizations help celebrate Earth Day weekend
of April 17-18
Allentown, Pa. - The Allentown Art Museum, America On Wheels
and the DaVinci Science Center are teaming up to "Go Green"
and will celebrate Earth Day April 17-18, 2010.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 17, visitors at the America
On Wheels Museum are invited to learn about Smart Cars with
the Lehigh Valley Smart Alec Club. The museum will also
be celebrating their second anniversary with an informative
presentation on history of the Ford Motor Co. by John Costenbader
of the Lehigh Valley Model A Club from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30
a.m. as well as a Bulldog Beauty Contest from 11 a.m. -
1 p.m. The first 100 visitors will get a special gift!
General admission for America on Wheels is $7, seniors
(62+) $5, students (6-16) $3.50, and children (5 & under)
are FREE.
From 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 17 and 1 p.m.
to 4 p.m. on Sunday April 18, the Da Vinci Science Center
will celebrate Earth Day with hands-on activities that highlight
important issue like recycling, alternative energy, and
global climate change. The first 100 visitors will also

Admission for the Da Vinci Center is: Adults $11.95; Seniors
(ages 62 and above) $8.95; Children (4-12) $8.95; Toddlers
(Ages 3 and under) FREE; and Military Members/Veterans $8.95.
And on April 18, from noon to 4 p.m., the Allentown Art
Museum will host Spring Festival: Green is Grand!
The cost for Spring Festival is FREE.

Families and friends can meet Mother Nature and her quirky
friends of Kit's Interactive Theatre as they "unearth" the
delicate balance of our ecosystem and whimsically demonstrate
the theme of respect for our Good Earth and all her creatures;
join "Earth Tones," featuring storyteller Lisa Facciponti
and guitarist/vocalist Neil Morris, as they celebrate our
planet and her inhabitants through songs and folktales;
explore the museum's special exhibitions The Green House:
New Directions in Sustainable Architecture and Design and
Lehigh Valley Going Green; enjoy the Family Time* interactive
presentation on architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright; and
inspired Earth Day art activities in the Crayola Learning
Center and more will engage all ages.
*Family Time in April is part of the Spring Festival on
Sunday, April 18. There will be no Family Time on Saturday,
April 3.
