America On Wheels Museum Unveils New 6 Month Exhibit
Featuring American Classics of the 1930s
Allentown, PA – American Classics of the 1930s will be
the next exhibit to pull into the West Gallery at America
On Wheels Museum. This exhibit will open to the public November
9th and will showcase 9 beautiful, world class vehicles
from the 1930s.
Two of the vehicles are from the Richard H. Driehaus Collection
at Chicago Vintage Motor Carriage. This includes a 1937
812 Cord and 1937 Chrysler Imperial Convertible.
“We have secured an outstanding array of vehicles for the
exhibit. The cars of the 1930's not only saw a leap forward
in technical design but the styling was distinctive and
imaginative” says museums Executive Director, Linda Merkel.
Other vehicles include:
- 1932 Auburn model 8-100 speedster
- 1932 Lincoln model 244B KB Coupe of which only 23 were
produced
- 1930 Franklin Series 147 Sport Runabout with a spirit
of St. Louis hood ornament
- 1931 Cadillac V-12 Fleetwood Roadster of which only
91 were produced, some locally in Fleetwood, PA
- 1930 Packard 740 Sport Phaeton with a blue and orange
color combination and which the owner takes on the road

The history of the 1939 New York World’s Fair, which covered
the 1,216 acres of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in New York,
will also be showcased beginning November 23rd for visitors
of all ages as the museum is an institution for lifelong
learners. The fair was themed. It was divided into different
zones, including transportation. The museum will also incorporate
this into their Annual Moonlight Memories Gala being held
November 30th. Guests will enjoy a silent auction, hearty
hors d' oeuvres, dinner stations and a specialty cocktail
