Presentation of the history and culture of roadside diners, with a special look at Allentown’s eateries.
Native Allentonian Richard J.S. Gutman is the author of four books about diners, including the definitive history of this iconic restaurant. He has worked on more than 90 diner projects in the U.S. and abroad, including new diners and restorations. This has resulted in a front page profile in The Wall Street Journal, an article in “The Talk of the Town” in The New Yorker, features in Smithsonian magazine and their website, and appearances on NPR, The Food Network, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, the BBC, among others.
